Hello again!
Wow - it has been a long time. I haven't really had anything interesting to post.
I really haven't been riding that much the past 12 months either.
However - I did just finally ride my bike on last Friday.
My car is in the shop, and my husband's car is not working right now. So, Friday I rode my bike to work - just under 3 miles one way.
The ride wasn't bad - but - and this is TMI, I know - let's just say it was a good thing that I brought a change of clothes because I was sweaty betty!!!
On the way home I took a different route, which was good because my husband called to say he was stuck on the highway trying to get home. So I rode up to the daycare - and he and my sister showed up in her car a few minutes later. I arrived about 6:33 PM - we are supposed to get the kids at 6:30. Ooops!
So, while they drove the kids home, I rode the rest of the way home - total round trip was about 7 miles.
Really - not that much - but after not riding for a long time - PHEW! I was beat.
I am thinking about what realistic goal I can set for the rest of the year for riding. Summer gets awful hot in Texas - so I am not sure whether I would be up for riding my bike to work every day.
On the kid front: my 8 year old is fighting to get her training wheels back. We bought her a nice Specialized kid's bike - nothing too expensive, but we normally don't spend more than $70 on a kids bike. She can ride it fine - but cannot stop. She insists we give her the training wheels back. Ah well - so that is what we are going to do. Hopefully she will learn how to stop soon and then feel confident so we can get ride of the training wheels forever!
