Thursday night ride

Fortunately for me, my 7 year old daughter graciously lent me the little bag that was attached to her bike we bought her a few weeks ago. It looked fabulous baby, as you can see from the blurry photo above.
On another note - yes, the bridge was scary, but having my handy dandy flashlight was a big help. I need to actually get a bike light. I am leery of them, because I have had so many that break quickly over the years. Usually the best solution I have had in the past has been using bungee cords to secure 2 or 3 regular flashlights in the bottom of my basket that is on the front of my comfort bike. On this ride I just pulled the flashlight out of the bag when I needed it and held it in my left hand as I rode. Not a very exciting solution, but it worked for me. And when I took a break (a bug flew into my right eye and I spend a few minutes trying to get it out while resting on a park bench), I just cranked it up so it would work when needed.
I am not sure how many miles over 5 I covered - but I know it was at least 5. The total ride time was 45 minutes. I did ride the rest of the extended trails. The one I didn't take last time goes all the way to the parking lot for Oak Point. Which is great, because it confirmed that we can really ride our bikes to go see the Balloon Festival in September. Hopefully the path won't be too crowded with other familes that have that idea. We shall see.
