Sunday Ride/Monday Gift for Birthday Girl

Sunday evening I had another ride in the park. Only did about MAYBE 7 or 8 miles though. For some reason, my knees were bothering me. I did cover some new territory on the Oak Point bike paths (they have a really nice public rest room on the main entrance by the way. Why this fascinates me, I don't know), but nothing too ardous, and I avoided the hills that went up to Los Rios. There was also a moderate wind that hit me either head on or from an angle for most of the ride. While this makes it good for a work out, I really wasn't in the mood for it.

Yesterday I visited one of the local bike shops during lunch. Bought a new water bottle for myself and for my daughter. She turned 14 yesterday, and I knew she could use a new watter bottle. Who doesn't love a new water bottle, right?

She has been hinting how mucch she would love her own computer for her birthday, in particular a laptop. Yeah...so not going to happen. I think she knew this, but a girl can dream right? Yesterday I did get her a computer - however it was a Cat's Eye Velo 5 bike computer. I told her it was the biggest computer we could afford for her at this time haha. She has a good sense of humor, and appreciated it.

Unfortunately she is going to have to wait until next week to use it, as her bike is still at her mom's house. She has really taken an interest in riding her bike this past year, so hopefully this will encourager her to "go the extra mile" etc.
