Excuses, excuses......
Okay, okay. Sheesh...no excuses for being away from my dear lovely bike for so long, I know, I know. However, I will try to list a few excuses anyway (to make myself feel better) as to just why I haven't been on a bike ride in so long:
1. School started, and my schedule changed at work. I started working two nights per week, husband starting going to school two (other) nights per week, and the crazy schedule of school minions began. Had a hard time adjusting to it all. By the time I got home on the early nights, it was almost 7PM and I was beat. I also worked several Saturdays the past two months.
2. The seemingly never ending rain in October. We had just about 20 days of rain in October. No kidding, I have a link to prove it: http://www.planostar.com/articles/2009/10/31/news_update/984.txt
(I don't really remember how much it rained in September - so we will just go for excuse # 1, k?)
It's sad though. If it rained 20 days in October, that means there were 10 days that it didn't rain. Sure, still a lot of standing puddles and such, but still, there were dry days. Bottom line, is that life has just gotten a bit off track for me with work, and dealing with the minions (I did get sick one week too), yadda yadda yadda. I did also lend my bike to my son and his friend from time to time when they didn't have a ride to work. But - but, that is still no excuse for not riding at all for two months.
I am definitely feeling the need to get back out soon. Now it isn't hot, but we are no longer on day light saving time. That means I will have to (GASP) get up earlier to ride, and make sure I am sneaking in a ride before I go to work. Not sure that is going to be easy to do. After all, tomorrow IS one of my late work days, yet here I am up at 1:35 AM in the morning. (I do have a good excuse: it involves a late night run to Wal-Mart for drain cleaner, and trying to clean up a huge mess in the kitchen.)
Anyway...let's see what this week brings.
