Finally Getting A Little Warmer
We may finally be through this last Arctic blast! Today was quite nice out, I believe in the high 30s/low 40s. Woohoo! My hope is that in a few weeks we will get a few warm days here and there so I can take the kids for a ride to the park.
I am such a bad parent. I think our 8 year old has only been out for a ride maybe three or four times since we bought her new bike a few months ago. We gave the 10 year old daughter a Razor scooter for Christmas. She has yet to take it out for a spin! It is true that it has been just very cold out since Christmas, but she also refused to try it until I get her the right size knee and elbow pads. Won't. Even. Try. It. It isn't that she isn't happy about; on the contrary, she is quite excited and says she cannot wait to take it for a spin. But I guess, safety first?
I have looked here and there online, and figure I am going to have to save between $100 and $150 to buy a good used trainer. Trying to figure just how to squeeze some money out for that. It would be nice to purchase it before it is spring, but even if I don't, I think get some use out of it after dark.
I am still in the process of merging a couple other blogs with this one. Right now I have three other separate blogs. Why? Well, the first I started was about philosophy, and my progress/changing in thinking; I believe the second was this one, which was just to help me keep track and motivated riding my bike. (Worked out not so well, haha.) The third is one that I decided to just write about whatever popped in my head, but I couldn't (wouldn't) use the first blog for that, because I didn't like the name of it. (I know, lame.) The last one, I was using my full name, and was gearing it towards working up to a professional blog. BAHAHAHAH! I know, it's okay you can laugh too. But I have been in the same line of work for 10 years, so I was hoping to use it to generate traffic to a professional website I was working on. Of course that deteriorated to just random posts.
So, I figure if I am going to just have ONE active personal blog, I will use this one. Because Fatchickriding is a lot more fun to say than the other blog names. (Well except Tyrannical Matriarch. I think I will save that for another day MUAHAH!)
