Wii Fit Plus, Anyone?
The temps are back up - but I haven't had a chance to get out for any riding just yet. Which is a bummer, but I have to do SOMETHING so I am not sitting on my butt all day, right?
We have had Wii Fit for well over a year; the whole family used to use it quite a bit, but after we remodeled our living room (still a work in progress), we put it up for a while. We just recently pulled the Wii console out again.
Friday night we stopped at Best Buy for some retail therapy for my husband, and picked up Wii Fit Plus. Only twenty bucks, and per what Eden had described (she had played it recently at a birthday sleep over) it sounded worth the moolah. Unfortunately, we had issues connecting the Wii to the internet to update it so we could play the game. GRRR.
Saturday night, we purchased some new doohicky to solve this issue. And lo and behold! It is working again - got the update, and we were on the way.
Olivia, our youngest, spent about 2 hours on it (read: only child not grounded from video games right now). One thing she had a BLAST with was the bicycle exercise. It just really is running in place, but still, who could hate a bike game for the Wii?
What would be really cool is if Wii? could put out a bike computer/Wii remote that you could use with your stationary or regular bike on a trainer. How much fun would that be?
I just played on Fit Plus for about 21 minutes (didn't do the bike though - too tired loll), and hoping to play the game for about 20 to 30 minutes a day. Right now I don't feel comfortable leaving the house during business hours for a ride for more than 10 minutes, and you cannot really get much done in 10 minutes on a bike here. Perhaps this way it will at least help me with my energy level so when I finally get out for a ride it won't wind me as much.
Still searching for a good used trainer....
